Overview

This project focused on creating CanterLope, a comprehensive curriculum management platform for the equestrian industry. Designed for instructors and barn administrators, the solution simplifies lesson planning, adapts to individual student progress, and ensures a consistent, professional experience. The web-based admin panel enables users to manage and customize training programs, access a stock curriculum, and buy or sell lesson plans through the integrated Curriculum Marketplace. Instructors can quickly adjust plans, accommodate students at various skill levels, and provide structured, engaging lessons that build trust with parents and riders.

The mobile app, built with React Native for both iOS and Android, puts all essential teaching tools in instructors’ hands. From accessing lessons and materials by skill level to selecting mounted or unmounted activities and reviewing video content, everything needed for effective instruction is available on the go. The Daily Curriculum view keeps instructors organized when teaching back-to-back lessons at different levels, ensuring smooth, flexible scheduling. CanterLope brings clarity, structure, and ease to barn education—right from phone or desktop.

Instructors were relying on a mix of clipboards, Trello boards, and spreadsheets, leading to inconsistent lessons, lost data, and inefficiencies across barns.

Instructors needed a flexible system to organize and deliver lessons to students at different skill levels, often in back-to-back sessions, without overwhelming preparation time.

Many available solutions were not optimized for mobile use, making it hard for instructors to access or update lesson materials on the go, especially while working in dynamic barn environments.
